God. Life. Spirituality.

Saint Francis

with 3 comments

Whenever we think of prayer, we think of kneeling, bowing our heads, reciting scriptures or visiting holy places.

Saint Francis, however, saw prayer in a different way. He saw prayer in a much more general way. Saint Francis believed that doing anything that pleased God was prayer.

This could range from looking and appreciating the beauty in a flower, helping others who were less fortunate or, quite simply, making other people happy.

We live in an age where many problems are created by religion and, more importantly, by misunderstanding the basic premises that religions are built on.

As Saint Francis teaches us, to live a simple life in which we try to do what God would see as good is the only true way to live a spiritually enriched life.

What could you do today to pray in the way that Saint Francis taught us to?

  1. I like your website, Bro. Matthew, Sister Jojang. I enjoyed browsing all the contents and of the Sacred Heart Community website. I love your article on St. Francis. How about featuring St. Dominic next time? Thanks.
