dive for dreams

dive for dreams
or a slogan may topple you
(trees are their roots
and wind is wind)

trust your heart
if the seas catch fire
(and live by love
though the stars walk backward)

honour the past
but welcome the future
(and dance your death
away at this wedding)

never mind a world
with its villains or heroes
(for god likes girls
and tomorrow and the earth)

~e e cummings

  1. The poem is beautiful, but just now I’m worried for you and praying for your country in the wake of the typhoons. The images are so stark – wishing you the best.

  2. Yes, the poem is beautiful. I’ve recently discovered e e cummings, and i love his poems.

Thank you for your concern & prayers, Linda. It’s typhoon season on our country, but i’ve noticed that the typhoons during the past few years are becoming stronger & more destructive. (It’s probably because of global warming.)

We’ve experienced just recently 2 strong typhoons in the past week!. We’ve been hit directly by these 2 typhoons, but we’re fortunate because we didn’t sustain any injury or damage. My heart goes out, though, to the victims – those whose property were destroyed & those who lost their lives.

Another typhoon will make landfall this Tuesday. We pray that it will change its course…
