Rekindling Hope

with 4 comments

Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life don’t last. The spring rains will come again.

  3. What a beautiful photo – and such hopeful words. We just are hoping that our spring rains come this year, and not next! Another year of drought would be a little hard to take.

On another matter entirely – on our recent Memorial Day, I found a site that lists where American soldiers are buried. I had an uncle who fought on Leyte, was killed and never came home. I found out that he’s buried in the cemetery in Manila, that he was a Staff Sargeant, and that he won a Purple Heart. It’s rather amazing, really, but I like knowing he’s in Manila. Now that I “know” you, it’s rather as if he landed among friends. 😉

  4. I’ve heard of the drought in certain parts of the US last year. Just found out that 47% of the US is still experiencing drought! The good news is: it’s down from 63% from last summer when the US experienced one of its worst droughts in record.

Even here in our country we’ve been experiencing drastic changes in the weather. For instance, Mindanao (which is at the southernmost part of our country) is an area in our country which has been typhoon-free in the past. But lately it was battered by very strong typhoons, one of which late last year brought a lot of damage to property and lives.

It’s probably caused by global warming. I hope that, this time around, we really take care of our environment, otherwise it could have dire consequences in the future.

About your uncle – that’s indeed amazing! Thank you for the kind words. I’m happy for the friendships, like ours, that have developed through cyberspace. I’d like to think, too, that he has landed among friends… 🙂
